Gerry Tenney and the California Klezmer band are equally at home with traditional Yiddish folksongs and instrumentals, Yiddish and Yinglish rock and roll, music from the 20s through the 60s, as well as their own original compositions.  Let California Klezmer take you from a shepherd’s meadow in Romania, to a wedding in Babroisk, to Yiddish doo wop singing in New York, seamlessly weaving together a wide variety of musical styles and moods.  California Klezmer has performed for the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival, the Hollywood Bowl Children’s Ethnic Music Series, Freight and Salvage in Berkeley, Crown College at U.C.  Santa Cruz, the Berkeley-Richmond Jewish Community Center Music Festival and at synagogues throughout the area.  California Klezmer has great music for community celebrations, weddings and bar/bas mitzvahs.
