The MoodSwing Orchestra was formed in 1995 for the performance of swing and dance band music of the 30s and 40s. MoodSwing covers big band hits made famous by leaders such as Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Xavier Cugat. The Orchestra's fresh approach to classic big band music has attracted an enthusiastic following among Bay Area music fans.?The members of MoodSwing have performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the NorthSea Jazz Festival, the Monterey Jazz Festival (U.S. and Japan) and the San Jose Jazz Festival. In addition to a regular slate of private engagements, MoodSwing appears regularly at the Claremont Resort, the Club Deluxe, Mr. E's Nightclub, the HiBall lounge, Bimbo's 365 Club and Broadway Studios.
