Started as a college-age diversion, Butch Whacks and the Glass Packs evolved into both a solid nightclub attraction as well as a fitting complement to such certified concert "draws" as The Doobie Brothers, Pointer Sisters and Boz Scaggs. In 1983, The Glass packs embarked on a series of annual "Farewell Performances" that have been instant sellouts for twenty years, originally at San Francisco's Great American Music Hall, and now at the retro-hip Bimbo's on Columbus Avenue in historic North Beach.
