After receiving a B.A. in classical music from UCSC in 1985, Eric Jarmie has focused his art on the flamenco guitar. He has studied in Spain with renowned guitarists Gerardo Nunex, Enrique Melchor, Paco Serrano, Nino Jero and others. In 1987 Eric co-founded Sangre Brava with Mercedes Molina and served as its co-director and guitarist through 1990. He has also served as administrator and guitarist for flamenco cuadro Las Ramas and for many years has performed as a soloist for special events throughout the Bay Area. Eric has developed a core repertoire of his own music for solo flamenco guitar that is based on traditional flamenco forms such as Mantillas de Feria, Guajiras, Rumbas, Solea, Siguiriya, many of which represent the festive and lively sounds for which flamenco is best known. Erics strength both in classical guitar and flamenco make him a great choice for weddings. He can cover standard wedding repertoire for your ceremony while offering the more lively flamenco sets for cocktails or dinner. Straight flamenco or mixed sets are available for receptions of any kind.
